Disney’s Port Orleans - Riverside Resort
Port Orleans - Riverside has 2 sections, Alligator Bayou and Magnolia Bend. Alligator Bayou has 16 buildings styled as rustic, weathered lodges. Magnolia Bed has 4 buildings styled as southern plantation grand manor homes. It has over 2,000 rooms over all. This is a very large resort, preferred rooms are recommended to avoid walking long distances to the Riverside Mill Food Court or pool.
Port Orleans Riverside was designed to reflect the Antebellum South along the Mississippi River. When it opened on February 2, 1992 it was called Disney’s Dixie Landings. Starting April 1, 2001 the resort was changed to become Port Orleans - Riverside, one of two “regions” of a united Port Orleans Resort.
In 2011 about 500 rooms were transformed in to the Royal Guest Rooms. These rooms have fun regal theming including headboards that light up like shooting stars. These are the perfect touch for the princess in your life.
