Tips for an Adult Only Disney Trip

Silly adults- Disney is for kids. That is what many people think. I am here to say…WRONG! Disney is for everyone. Have you ever thought about taking an Adults-Only vacation to Walt Disney World? I say DO IT. Disney is a place for kids, but also perfect for kids-at-heart. Disney parks are places where we can forget about the real world and focus on the Magic. It is true, Disney parks are designed to entertain children, but that doesn’t mean that adults won’t enjoy a vacation there. In fact, there are many activities and events that are made just for adults.

Like all Disney vacations, it is important to decide what kind of Disney vacation you want. Do you want to relax by the pool, party all night, or rope drop- close the parks? Much like any vacation, where you stay can play a huge factor into your trip. There isn’t one ultimate resort that is the best. Picking the right hotel for you depends on how many people you are with and what you plan to spend time doing.

If you are looking to relax by the pool, I’d recommend Art of Animation, Port Orleans- French Quarter and the Polynesian. These resorts offer large, beautiful pools that are super relaxing.

If you’d like to party all night, I’d recommend Boardwalk and Port Orleans-French Quarter. Dance the night away at the Boardwalk’s Atlantic City Dance Hall or be entertained by dueling pianos at Jellyrolls. Port Orleans- French Quarter offers a jazz bar and has a boat that will take you to Disney Springs. If you want to try fun Disney drinks, you can try out the Skyliner Bar Crawl or Monorail Bar Crawl.

If you’d like to spend your days in the parks, I’d recommend Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, and the Polynesian. These resorts offer two of the best modes of transportation at Disney, the Skyliner and the Monorail, an easy and fun way get to and from the parks.

Whether you’re planning a solo trip, a romantic getaway, a girl’s trip, or group vacation, Disney is the place for you.

Romantic Getaway- Walt Disney World is full of LOVE. I mean look at all of the couples, Prince & Princesses and the original couple- Mickey & Minnie. For the fun, adventure seeking couples, you could spend your days riding all of the rides throughout the parks. For a little romance, book a romantic dinner at one of the fancy restaurants that Walt Disney World has to offer.
Girls Trips/Group Trips- Take advantage of being child-free and plan a stress-free getaway. Think of all the things at Walt Disney World that is either hard with kids or impossible. Explore restaurants that you normally wouldn’t visit. Meet your favorite characters. Enjoy the food and drinks offered at the festivals at EPCOT or just take your time to explore the World Showcase.

Take advantage of this time to Treat Yo’Self. Walt Disney World is full of activities to splurge on. Plan an activity to truly enjoy your time. Here are a few that I’d suggest:

  • Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party or the Oogie Boogie Bash at Disneyland

  • Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party or Holiday Festivities at Disneyland

  • Fireworks Dessert Parties

  • Behind the Scenes tours

Now when you sit down to think about an adults-only vacation, you will know that Disney is the place for you. Granted seeing Disney through the eyes of a child is magical, but it is a ton of work. It is time for you to enjoy a vacation that allows you to worry only about yourself and what you want to do.

Disney World vacations are magical any way you put it but if you haven’t, I recommend taking a Disney vacation for adults. You will get to see Disney in an entirely new way and do many things you want to do. Disney vacations are for adults too!
